We were invited to increase awareness about Métis culture at Library and Archives Canada by delivering cultural awareness workshops in both English and French.
After learning about the history of the fur trade, workshop participants tasted traditional blueberry bannock, enjoyed a couple of jigging demonstrations (by The Lyons Sisters - Métis Jiggers), and then we had a segment teaching everyone the basics of jigging to traditional fiddle music.
The workshop ended with a friendly trivia competition between participants where winners were given some of our delicious handmade chocolate bars for their efforts. Thank you LAC for inviting us to share our culture with you - it was a blast!
