It was so much fun teaching the folks at OCSB about Métis culture!
They clapped along to the Red River Jig which encouraged us to share our latest dance (The Broom Dance) with their group. As an audience, they showed engagement during the history and trivia components of the workshop and everyone had a great time learning fancy steps to a traditional reel.
It was nice to see so many educators express a genuine desire to increase awareness of various Indigenous cultures within their classrooms in the next school year.
