Experiential learning with youth!
We were honoured to present our Introduction to Métis Dot Art workshop during the OCDSB’s PD Day on March 28, 2025, held at the Canada Science and Technology Museum. Participants arrived eager to explore Métis dot art—an expressive style that uses small, colourful dots of paint to mimic beadwork and create detailed floral designs inspired by the prairie flowers of the Homeland.
The Girl Guides’ vision, "A better world, by girls," truly resonates with us.
We were warmly welcomed by the 24th Ottawa Scout Group to share our Métis cultural awareness workshop.
It was so much fun teaching the folks at OCSB about Métis culture!
We were invited to increase awareness about Métis culture at Library and Archives Canada by delivering cultural awareness workshops in both English and French.
We had an incredible opportunity to share our culture with schools in the Renfrew County Catholic District School Board on Culture Day.
Family and kinship ties are at the heart of Métis culture.
We invited Indigenous youth to make a Mother’s Day Pancake Mix gift, plus learn Métis jigging!
