It was an honour to receive an award for Exceptional Leadership and Dedicated Work by the Odawa Native Friendship Centre.
We received the award from Odawa NFC Executive Director Randy Mayes, at the 23rd Annual Ottawa Indigenous Children & Youth Pow Wow.
We enjoy continuously expanding our knowledge of traditional dance and teaching what we’ve learned to Indigenous youth. Kîšâc is a word from Swampy Cree which means “with a view to the future” and it his our hope that the children we teach today will continue to pass what they learn along to future generations.
