We had an incredible opportunity to share our culture with schools in the Renfrew County Catholic District School Board on Culture Day.
The staff was warm and welcoming and purchased some of our handmade chocolates and baked goods to share with their students. Students received a brief history lesson on Métis people in Canada, learned some basic jigging steps, and were given an opportunity to try some traditional bannock.
After a session of Q&A about Métis culture, we were treated to foods from around the world including delicious Indian tacos, several varieties of bubble tea, vegetable samosas, and homemade perogies. We left the school with full hearts, stomachs, and good memories of our day.
