This Christmas, Kisac partnered with Covers of Love to bring handmade dolls and blankets to Indigenous children in Grand Rapids and other northern Manitoba communities.
Covers of Love is a project that uses donated materials and volunteer labour to sew blankets, hats, toys, and other items for children and babies in need – in Canada and around the world. Romania was the first foreign recipient of their beautiful gifts, and this year they decided to help make a wonderful Christmas for one reservation on Turtle Island. Through the Kisac program, Youth4Youth Canada (Y4) was happy to help!

In all, 50 blankets and 100 dolls were presented to children at Misipawistik Cree Nation. Your donations to Y4Y support partnerships like this, in addition to our own Kisac and Talk Overdose initiatives.
