On Saturday, we were invited to Rideau Hall to perform at the Governor General’s Winter Celebration.
This was our second year performing at this event and the first time that our parent organization Youth4Youth Canada was granted a cultural booth.
We performed three sets featuring our traditional dances, with special guest appearances by our Y4Y colleague Akina Ohlman and our Kîšâc Junior Jiggers.
We were grateful for Elders and Knowledge Keepers Senator Parm Burgie and Veda Weselake who provided opening and closing prayers and smudging and talked to visitors at our booth. Thank you to everyone who braved the minus-twenties to spend the day with us.
