National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

We spent our day for reflection together, as it should be, then made an entire weekend out of it.

On Saturday, we met for a day of apple picking. While the idea was to gather as many as we could to bake with, they were too delicious not to enjoy and we ate more than a few from our bags before leaving.

But there was plenty still left, and on Sunday we reconvened to turn our harvest into scrumptious apple crumble! And afterwards, we practiced Metis jigging.

Being on the land and with each other and then preparing food together was a special feeling. Harvesting, baking, and dancing. Gathering, learning, and laughing. The weekend was a celebration of who we are!

We hope to squeeze in more family-friendly programming this year! For information on up and coming programs, or to register for advertised workshops, write to us at hello at y4y.ca!
